Tokyo with Frankie

Rain in Shinjuku, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku and the quiet coast of Miura.

THE STORY

A journey
worth remembering.

From September 22 to 27, Frankie and I explored Tokyo and beyond. A rainy first night led to an impromptu grill dinner; the days that followed connected sacred forests, youth culture, seafood markets and a peaceful fishing village.

01 · SHINJUKU

A rainy beginning

Heavy rain greeted us after landing. We hurried into a nearby grill restaurant, and that unplanned dinner became the perfect beginning to a journey shaped by appetite and curiosity.

02 · MEIJI & HARAJUKU

Old rituals beside new culture

At Meiji Shrine we heard stories of answered prayers and met two university students whose kindness showed us Japanese hospitality firsthand. Just beyond the forest, Harajuku represented a completely different energy—and unknowingly planted the name of our future restaurant.

03 · MIURA COAST

A quiet fishing village

Miura's harbour, seafood and slow coastal rhythm offered space to breathe after Tokyo. It was the kind of place that made one promise: Japan, I will return.
